About: It was one of those nights that was always going to be special. The city of Madrid with its three million inhabitants was bathed in warm, autumnal, red-gold evening sunshine as rock fans streamed over the Calle del Arenal Boulevard close to the Royal Palace and into the Joy Eslava. It is usually young revellers from the Spanish capital who party through the night in the impressive surroundings of the former theatre, however, on November 19, 2015 it transformed into a cathedral of riffs, or more aptly: A Temple of Rock. Michael Schenker and his crew chose this unique location with special care for the recording of this concert. They knew for certain that the historic three-floor music theatre in the centre of Madrid would create an especially intimate atmosphere between the musicians and the fans, for this musical and visual extravaganza. Long-term fans of Michael Schenker know for sure that they can expect the very best in melodic hard rock at his band’s live gigs with songs from his time with UFO, the Michael Schenker Group and his very latest band - Michael Schenker‘s Temple of Rock, founded in 2011. From day one, they have kept true to the name of the band, performing the honest, genuine Michael Schenker sound his fans love: no frills, but with the untamed passion of peerless rock legends - each of whom could fill major venues as headliners on their own merits. Accompanying axeman Michael Schenker are another two ex-Scorpions who both made major contributions to the first decades of success of the monumental Hanover band: the charismatic drummer Herman Rarebell and the bassist Francis Buchholz. Wayne Findlay provides a brilliant soundscape on guitars and keyboards. With a cool wink and his clear falsetto, ex-Rainbow lead singer Doogie White plays the roles of the cheerful entertainer and the high priest in the Temple of Rock. The technical crew dim the lights shortly after 8pm and the show starts. The intimate atmosphere of the music theatre in Madrid gives the rising fanfare at the start of the performance and almost mystical feel. Beams of light dance over an excited crowd. The superstars give their fans three minutes to warm up before Doogie White finally takes to the stage and puts an end to their wait with the words: “Good evening, Madrid! It’s rock’n’roll time!” Madrid is up for it from the start and Michael Schenker’s rock icons set off a unique rock'n'roll firework display. With never-ending chants of “ole, ole, ole”, the Spanish crowd celebrates with the stars as the lead singer tells them that the band have chosen this concert to be the first live show they record in 4K HD quality. The speed and the selection of songs is spot on. The atmosphere in the Joy Eslava theatre is electric. The sheer joy of the band on this unique night of rock is in no way artificial, it is 100% genuine. The fans both young and old rock out with their heroes throughout the theatre. The Temple of Rock band have an unerring feeling for their public and allow their enthusiasm to carry them through the concert. The fans in Madrid are treated to completely world-class guitar rock show. A legendary concert ends to tumultuous applause from the Spanish fans and Michael Schenker, the tall, blond rock guitarist, leaves the Joy Eslava quietly via a side exit. How fortunate that this unforgettable evening has been captured for the ages. Andreas Stumptner, Editor-in-Chief

| Cita Alexanders ( ) The city of Madrid with its three million inhabitants... When did Madrid lost half of its population?
Cita Alexanders ( ) this concert to be the first live show they record in 4K HD quality.
It's interesting some bands are starting to record with this UHD video resolution. Let's see how this kind of formats evolves in the next couple of years.
Thanks a lot, Alexanders.
