After leaving Black Sabbath, the legendary Ronnie James Dio formed the self-titled super group with a string of seminal releases that continue to influence the hard rock and heavy metal worlds to this day. This Complete Singles Collection gathers all of the band’s classic singles on Vertigo/Universal in replicas of the original release, a DVD featuring all of the corresponding promo videos, plus a book featuring the complete Vertigo discography.
The set you are viewing and are about to purchase, is one of the BEST box sets I have ever purchased! Yes, I am a huge DIO fan, but still, the packaging, cd sleeves and all, are of a truly high quality and should hold up quite well over the years that you own this product. A nice booklet, outlining each single; some with various alternate covers from various countries and the DVD of the videos is a must have in itself. I was too young at the time to collect the singles, as they came out, let alone see the official videos that accompanied them. The sad fact is, that Ronnie is no longer with us; but with this collection, you can imagine that he is still with us and still just as vibrant a performer as when he was alive. The cost is a little pricey, but if you do not purchase another item by DIO, other than his studio albums, then this is the one that should be purchased. It felt like the eighties and early nineties all over again when I opened this set and feel the youth and vitality that should be felt when you do the same. Thank you, Wendy Dio, for allowing such extremely high quality items to surface, and I hope and do believe there will be many more to come. I personally miss you Ronnie, but with items such as these, ones that have not been seen in years, will remind you that he will never die, so long as us fans keep him in our hearts and minds forever! The Holy Diver, is now truly, The Man on the Silver Mountain! Items like this prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he will truly come back to us, and stay there forever. Long Live Rock and Roll!
