Black Sabbath Donnington Park 11-6-2005 UK NTSC DVD All region Pro Shot As far as I can see this dvd has not been made available before.
This is a direct copy of a silver dvd I have entitled "DONNINGTON PARK 2005" It is an all region
NTSC dvd.
This is a Pro Shot DVD rumoured at the time to be considered for official release. Three years later everyone is still waiting.
However this DVD is fantastic and should fill the void until an official release arrives, (I'm not holding my breath).
Sound quality Sup 9/10 Video quality Sup 10/10,it's awesome.
So whats wrong with this dvd?
1 As it is a copy directly from I assume the master tape it still has the TCR (Time Code Reading) on the film throughout.
2 Although the film is pro shot the dvd menu certainly is not, because there isn't one. However the dvd is separated at the correct place
into chapters (see above) which is better than nothing, meaning tracks can be accessed via the "Forward/Backward skip button" on your remote.
With regards to the TCR, apparently if you are talented enough this can be removed by using a program entitled "Virtual Dub".
I'm not talented enough and I also think it's best to present recordings as you have them totally untouched.
I found that by switching the TV settings to subtitles mode it gets rid of it so it shouldn't be an issue really. It can just be
a little distracting if you watch it in normal mode, similar to watching a film with subtitles, but you do get used to it.
This is the classic line up of Black Sabbath. If you like Black Sabbath you'll love this dvd and I hope you enjoy it
