Japanese edition of this compilation. The songs have been remixed and reworked and the vocal parts are recorded by Matt Barlow. It was published in 1997 and there is a double CD edition. The tracks in this single edition were originally included in Enter the Realm, Iced Earth and Night of the Stormrider, the early years of the band.
From RateYourMusic: Rerecording old albums with new singers doesn't seem to be a popular pasttime among metal bands, even the ones that had a rather poor old singer. Unlike some bands, IE did rerecord the rather poorly done old vocals.
Song selection features most of the songs from Night of the Stormrider, all from the debut and EP and a few from Burnt Offerings. Technically, seeing as this is a compilation it does make sense for the BO songs, but seeing as most people would be getting this one for the rerecordings of the non-Barlow songs, it does seem to be pointless. Some editions however, do not have the BO songs.
Song order is slightly strange, as we get Angel's Holocaust after Colors, among others, which isn't the most wisest of song orders. Production doesn't seem to be that much improved. Still, the primary thing is the new vocals, which are well done when it's mixed well, sometimes Barlow was mixed strangely low.
