At first call, don't go thinking that this lot hail from the land of kangaroos and boomerangs. Nup, Adelaide is in fact based around singer Adelaide Ferreira, a bit of a celebrity in her native Portugal. This gorgeous looking lady has been around for years, and would you believe she represented her country at the 1985 Eurovision Song Contest, only to end up among the tail-enders. before that, Adelaide could've been found singing in bars down in the touristy Algarve region. 'Fast N Far' is Adelaide's second album among her extensive musical career. She also has a career as a television actress, working in Portuguese soap operas (aka telenovelas). 'Entre Um Coco e Um Adeus' was her 1986 debut, followed by this one three years later. 'Fast N Far' actually came out in two versions. The Portuguese version entitled 'Amantes Imortais' and the English version. Hmm, that must have been an expensive recording session? In any case, Ms Ferreira gives us exceptional female oriented AOR in the mould of Tone Norum and Marie Frederiksen. She occasionally dabbles in blues and straight up rock 'n roll too. Whatever the case, this bird can sing. Helping her out on the album is Adelaide's husband Luis Fernando, who proves that he is no slouch on the guitar! In fact, these two had been musical partner-in-arms for a decade or more.
