Shocker - The Music (Original Soundtrack) Shocker (aka Shocker: No More Mr. Nice Guy and Wes Craven's Shocker), is a 1989 horror film written and directed by Wes Craven. A modest success when originally released, the relatively low-budget film has since become a cult classic. It starred Mitch Pileggi, who later gained fame as Assistant Director Walter Skinner in The X-Files television series, as the antagonist, Horace Pinker.
A special edition DVD was released in 1999.
The Dudes Of Wrath, which was comprised of KISS' Paul Stanley and Def Leppard's Vivian Campbell on guitars, Whitesnake's Rudy Sarzo on bass guitar, and Mötley Crüe's Tommy Lee on drums, along with Alice Cooper...
Alice is featured on the soundtrack, singing on 'Shockdance' by The Dudes Of Wraith, which was actually a ad-hoc group of musicians put together for this project. He also co-wrote 'Love Transfusion' with Desmond Child which was sung by Iggy Pop..
The "Son of Sam" in the lyric of 'Shockdance' refers to a famous serial killer who said that he only killed people because a dog (who's name was Son of Sam) that lived inside a hole of his apartment wall told him to.
(Renfield, March 1997)
Both songs are available on a soundtrack album which also features Megadeth doing 'No More Mr Nice Guy'. There is a video for this track which features Alice briefly at the end.
