La banda se conformó en 1993, y desde entonces mantuvo su formación original, con Brett Anderson en voz y teclados, Allison Robertson en guitarra, Maya Ford en bajo y Torry Castellano en la batería.
Con Greatest Hits Vol 16, The Donnas celebran sus 16 años como banda. Incluye dos temas nuevos, además de versiones re-grabadas de algunas de sus primeras canciones, incluyendo "Get rid of that girl" de su álbum debut (The Donnas - 1997) y "Get you alone" (Get skintight - 1999).
El 21 de julio comenzarán la gira Call Me Invincible, en la que compartirán escenario con Blondie y Pat Benetar.
