“Glam Damnation” (what a title!) comes as a follow up to Jaimz’s previously released “My Private Hell”, which was a fine comeback in top form by all means. The former Tigertailz lead singer (Young And Crazy), for many, would have been a star of the genre, had it not been for his 100% rock way of life. Quoting Dave Reynolds from his inner sleeve notes: “Still there are plenty of stories to be told about Steevi, and many of them are alcohol related.” Just have a read at these very enlightening notes and see for yourselves. Having read all that detailed info, it’s no mystery to me anymore why so many and mostly interesting tunes had been gathering dust on some shelf until now. Anyway, what we have here is a compilation including tracks, written between the years 1982-1994, from his early days with Crash K.O., his “Kick That Habit” EP (produced by Thin Lizzy’s guitarist Scott Gorham by the way) and his War Party and Jaimz Gang projects. Without claiming we are dealing with a top notch material here, this is as dirty, mean and simple as a glam/sleaze record is meant to be. Not as catchy as it should be though. You see, some of the tracks sound too raw for being called catchy and songwriting might be uneven, but hey, it’s all about a rock ‘n’ roll overdose after all! Steevi Jaimz's raspy, soulful and torn vocals add even more authenticity to the end result. Good stuff for every Hanoi Rocks, early Poison and Motley Crue fan.
