| Kill Devil Hill - Revolution Rise (2013)
Kill Devil Hill is a heavy metal supergroup founded in 2011 by drummer Vinny Appice (former Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell and Dio), bassist Rex Brown (former Pantera and Down), guitarist Mark Zavon and lead vocalist Dewey Bragg (former Pissing Razors). The band is named after the town of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, a location renowned from pirating days. The band's sound has been described as "heavy and modern without succumbing to typical contemporary hardcore trappings – indecipherable vocals or overused blast beats."
The first Kill Devil Hill record kicked everyone in the ass. The second,
Revolution Rise, will not only kick your ass, it will crush your ears
and your mind as well. Revolution Rise shows the growth of Kill Devil
Hill as a band. If you are not familiar with them here is a quick
rundown: in 2011 Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell,
Dio),Rex Brown (Pantera, Down), Mark Zavon (W.A.S.P.), Dewey Bragg
(Pissing Razors) came together to create the force that is Kill Devil
Hill.
With the October 29 release of their sophomore album ‘REVOLUTION RISE’, KILL DEVIL HILL are taking their new material on the road for a
headlining club tour. The tour kicks off October 26 in Ramona, CA, and
runs through the month of November with support from Century Media
Records labelmates EYES SET TO KILL and GIRL ON FIRE, as well as BLACK WATER RISING.
Featuring PANTERA and DOWN bassist REX BROWN, former DIO, BLACK SABBATH and HEAVEN AND HELL drummer VINNY APPICE, ex-PISSING RAZORS singer DEWEY BRAGG and acclaimed session/touring guitarist MARK ZAVON, KILL DEVIL HILL combine a classic feel with fresh energy. The band recently offered fans their first taste of ‘REVOLUTION RISE’ with the release of “Crown Of Thorns”.
Says REX BROWN of the album: “This new KILL DEVIL HILL record is
definitely one of my favorite moments of my career – it’s got balls,
great melodies, awesome guitar riffing and a low end that’ll set your
