Tezza F - The Message (…A Story Of Agony, Hope and Faith…) (2013)



Third studio album for Verona Tezza F, solo project born in 2006 from the mind of Philip Tezza, guitarist and vocalist of Soul Guardian, which aims to break into the world of Italian power metal even without his original band. Originally pure power metal, the style of Tezza F does not hide even melodic influences, progressive and dark, in an amalgam unitary and homogeneous but comprises different trends. Now you can see strong influences of Blind Guardian, especially in the voice of Philip, and Rhapsody in sound, but there are also references to Dream Theater "Metropolis", especially in the drums of "The Message", and also to 'baroque universe of dark Haggard, in "Fading Lightless", in which alternating choirs epic, symphonic scores and voice with shades of death-black. The complex is an album of a complete total, able to penetrate three hundred and sixty degrees in all shades of metal, and a vast theme crazy, especially if we think of a band that was born only six years. We are, in fact, in front of a full concept album dedicated to the mystery of hope and faith, able to lead from the darkness ("Quies Aeterna"), through heavenly signs ("caelorum Signa"), at the dawn of a new day ("At The Dawn Of A New Day"), in which a revelation, an epiphany blue ("The Message") will lead to the Elysian Fields ("Beyond The Gates Of Heaven") where heroes rest. This, like the plot of a more recent concept as "In The Gardens Of Babylon" of Quintessence, is the story of an ordinary man who discovers the darkness of ignorance to knowledge through Revelation, although the difference is that now , this is a transcendent entity, while the Quintessence and the Word was the goal achieved through a journey to the Underworld: we could compare the work of the Divine Comedy Tezza F, while the album Quintessence of Paradise Lost, even if the purpose is always the same, namely a quete of themselves that leads from darkness to the light of eternal glory. The product is definitely worth and a true connoisseur of power and progressive metal can not to miss this job. Glory to Tezza F!
