W.A.S.P. es una banda estadounidense de hard rock/heavy metal, liderada por Blackie Lawless. Emergieron de la escena de la ciudad de Los Angeles (California), la misma que llevó a la fama a otras bandas como Mötley Crüe, Ratt o Quiet Riot. Aunque la popularidad de la banda alcanzó su clímax en los años ochenta, aún continúan grabando discos y haciendo giras, convirtiéndose en una de las bandas más duraderas de la Costa Oeste de los Estados Unidos. Han vendido cerca de 12 millones de copias de sus discos.

DISCOGRAFÍA W.A.S.P. - W.A.S.P. 1984 (reedition 1998 con bonus) 
Este es el álbum debut de W.A.S.P. en 1984, titulado igual que el grupo. Esta banda californiana, liderada por Blackie Lawless, se había hecho un hueco en el panorama musical con su polémico primer single “Animal (fuck like a beast)”, que fue censurado y excluido del LP. Así, la banda se convirtió en uno de los blancos preferidos de las asociaciones moralistas y conservadoras de los USA.
En cuanto al nombre de la banda, no está claro que corresponda al habitual significado de las siglas “White Anglo Saxon Protestant” (sobre todo porque el amigo Blackie tiene sangre negra en sus venas), de hecho ellos siempre jugaron al despiste y en la wikipedia se pueden ver algunos de los posibles significados.
El disco incluía su gran éxito “I wanna be somebody”. Esta es la reedición de 1998, que añade el tema originariamente censurado, así como “Show no mercy” y la versión de los Stones “Paint it black”.

este lp es una opera rock y un gran album conceptual, en el se habla de la vida de un joven muchacho, jonathan, al que, ya de pequeño, no se le dio el cariño necesario, un exotérico lleno de traumas, miedos y frustraciones. tras la muerte de su hermano, al cual veneraba e, ironicamente, el receptor de todo el amor que sus padres podian dar, su vida se convierte en un infierno. sus padres apenas le hablaban. un dia, decide abandonar su vivienda para paladear suerte, coge una guitarra y tras solos años, consigue triumfar en la musica. y ya sabeis, el mundillo de las rock stars... se refleja el fugaz leyenda de "sexo, drogas y rock’n’roll" lo que le llevara a un término tragico.

Still Not Black Enough es el sexto álbum en estudio de la banda de Heavy Metal W.A.S.P., lanzado en Junio de 1995. Inicialmente el disco fue pensado para ser una producción solista de Blackie Lawless, sin embargo, al igual que con The Crimson Idol, Lawless finalmente optó por lanzarlo como una producción de W.A.S.P.
