Legendary British supergroup ASIA are pleased to announce “Face On The Bridge”, the first single token from their new studio album “XXX”, available as digital download.
“XXX” (pronounced Triple X) will be released by Frontiers Records on June 29th in Europe and July 3rd in North America.
Produced by Mike Paxman, “XXX” is being hailed as ASIA’s best album since its classic early '80s releases, will appear as a CD, collector’s edition CD/DVD (featuring new music videos and behind the scenes footage), and on vinyl (limited edition Europe only).
I love “Face On The Bridge”. Everything about this song just resonates the classic sound and appeal of this original lineup.
All the key components that make the Asia sound unique and classic are here; Steve Howe's chiming and precision fret work, Carl Palmer's driving percussion, Geoff Downes' layered and interplaying keyboards and all anchored by John Wetton's rock solid bass work and soaring vocals.
Since their reformation in 2006, Asia just keeps getting better and better. This new single sounds like it could have been lifted from their 1982 debut.
“Face On The Bridge” is upbeat, melodic, catchy and full of momentum. The band sounds as lean and energetic as Roger Dean's colorful dragon, which graces the album's cover.
I absolutely cannot wait to hear this entire new album from Asia.
