Gehenna saw the light of day already back in 1993 and are one of the original founders
of true Norwegian Black Metal. With 6 albums and 2 EP`s on their soul
scarred conscience, they have made an profound impact on today’s black
metal scene. Gehenna has explored the boundaries of the genre but always
stayed true, no doubt one of the main reasons for their cult-like
status. Having kept us waiting since their 2005 release of “WW”,
“Unravel” is Gehenna’s latest addition to the Norwegian black metal
experience. It carries the spirit from WW, and twists it to confront a
more post-apocalyptic era – rather than the ragnarok of the bourgeoise,
the individual, and the failings of western society – Gehenna faces 21st
century existence head on. There is no remorse, no compromise – there
is only perfect hate.
