Progressive heavy metal band formed in Seattle, WA, USA, in 1982 formed by guitarists Chris
DeGarmo & Michael Wilton, bassist Eddie Jackson, vocalist Geoff
Tate, and drummer Scott Rockenfield. This line-up remained in place
until 1997, when DeGarmo left the group to focus on life outside of music. In 2012, the group went through a highly publicized and unfriendly
split with Geoff Tate. Tate launched launched his own version of
Queensryche while the remaining members hired singer Todd LaTorre to
front their version of the band.
